Roda Golf and Beach Resort is located in the Costa Calida region and is 1.5 kms from the seaside town of Los Alcazares, which is situated beside the shallow waters of the Mar Menor. Translated, Costa Calida means 'warm coast', with around 300 days of sunshine a year and an an average annual temperature of 21degrees. The superb beaches and 8 km promenade are particularly popular with families as the waters offer safe bathing. A variety of water sports are also available.
LOS ALCAZARES
The town is 1.5 km away from the Roda and it's commercial centre offers bars, restaurants, shops and banking facilities. The 'Post Room' has internet access, sells newspapers, confectionary, cards, mobile phone top ups etc and also hires out pedal cycles.
LOS NAREJOS
The nearest beach is 3 km from the resort. The sandy beaches and shallow waters are ideally suited for families. The promenade stretches for 8 km from Los Narejos to Los Alcazares town. Numerous bars are dotted along the beach serving tapas, snacks and refeshments. A sailing club is also located on the beach.
SAN PEDRO DEL PINATAR
The salt flats are the most important wetlands of the whole Murcia region and as such were declared a Regional Park in 1985. They are home to flocks of flamingoes and other migrating birds which use this nature reserve in winter as a stopover on their flight from Europe to Africa. An information centre provides details of two walking routes through the salt flats, one of which leads down to the beach.
LO PAGAN
Here you will find outdoor mud baths, as famous in Spain as Dead Sea mud is in the Middle East. This mud is said to be beneficial to many complaints, such as dermatological, joint and bone problems, as well as possessing calming properties. People apply the mud to their body and let it dry out in the sun before washing it off in the salt waters.

There are numerous golf courses in the area all of which are open to the public. The famous golf courses at La Manga Club are only a 25 minute drive away.
Sailing courses and the hire of boats can be found at Pro-Vela Sailing Club which is situated on the beach at Los Alcazares.
Cabo de Palos is home to some of the best dive sites in Spain at Islas Hormigas Marine Reserve. This is a 35 minute drive from Roda.
There are 2 Water Parks located at Torrevieja and Murcia.

Travelling there
Roda is easily accessible by both road and air. It is situated 2km from Junction 786 of the AP7. The area is serviced by two airports, Murcia airport being just five minutes drive from Roda Golf Complex and Alicante airport which is a 50 minute drive away. Several airlines operate from the UK and Europe including Jet 2, Monarch and Ryanair.
Car Hire is not essential but can be found at either airport or locally to Roda at Los Alcazares. Companies include, Hertz and Europacar.

Complex description
Roda Golf is a 5 star golf complex with numerous facilities including, communal swimming pools and playground areas for children. There are tennis courts, basketball and football courts. The new club house is an excellent place to eat and drink at all times of day, the terrace overlooks the impressive golf course and water features thereon. There is a mini mart supermarket for essential food items, drinks, magazines and newspapers. There is a private beach club situated on the Mar Menor, this club has a restaurant beach and swimming pool and transport is provided during the summer months for an additional charge.
Bicycle hire is available - bikes will be delivered/collected to Roda Golf at no extra charge. Rental prices are approximately 50 to 60 euros a week and this includes helmets and locks.

Notes on suitability
Access to the roof terrace is via a spiral stair case. This is not suitable for people with walking difficulties or for babes in arms.
The accomodation can be accessed by lift as can the Club House and there is ramp access to all apartment blocks.

Course description
This excellent 18-hole, par 72 golf course, designed by Dave Thomas was created by combining different environments and working for a total adaptation to the Mediterranean landscape and vegetation. They have transformed the practically flat ground into an interesting and undulating golf terrain, with strategically placed lakes and carefully designed tree planting integrated in to the design, to challenge all levels of golfers. Watch out for the 7th Hole - 174m Par 3, played over water with the green on a small island!
Dave is rightly proud of his creation and has cleverly shaped the previously flat landscape into an interesting and undulating golfing terrain that is pleasing to the eye and provides an interesting and challenging test of golf. The design incorporates 3 strategically located lakes and a great deal of emphasis has also been placed on integrated tree planting and landscaping.

Prices are inclusive of air-conditioning/heating, linen, towels, beach towels and meet and greet.
In addition a departure clean charge of 60 euros is payable locally.
Changeover day is flexible. Whenever possible we will accomodate your arrival and departure time.
A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure. At this time a refundable damage deposit of £100 is also required.
